Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in the year 1992, and started studying marine sciences at the Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage. Bossard's professional career started in 1999 with a job at the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65-foot vessel, which was a halibut fishing vessel, was transformed into a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. He has been commercial fishing for the past twenty years. Bossard married Aritan in 1999 and the couple have teamed up in fighting for their company. Both are advocates of preserving sustainable and renewable marine resources. Otolith was founded by Philadelphia through Bella Bossard and is currently mother to two kids aged 3 and 1, Bossard. The couple is separated by five months, and she is able to be focused on her finances as well as the environment. Bossard along with Isabella as well as Andre (ages 12, 10 respectively) are back each year, beginning in July of 2016, to Southeast Alaska for the summer harvest of wild salmon.
